A Journey to Remember Those We Have Lost and to Celebrate Those Who Have Survived!

The Journey

From 19th August - 8th September Michelle and Laura are planning a 2000km journey around Botswana to raise funds and awareness about domestic abuse. Please look through our website to find out more about the journey, its purpose and how you can support us.

We will be trying to update our blog and add photos of our journey as we go but this is internet dependent!! If this isn't as successful as we hope we will be keeping a diary and adding all the entries when we get back - so you can still see how our journey went.

We need you to help us make this possible!

Every penny you donate could help change someones life!

All money goes to supporting survivors of abuse and not on funding the trip itself.

 How widespread is domestic abuse?

The Home Office estimate that in Surrey alone over 23,000 women and girls will have experienced domestic abuse within the past year. Nationally over two women a week are killed by a current or ex-partner in England & Wales.

Between 1st April 2011 and 31st March 2012 ESDAS  dealt with 1758 adult referrals, 14,520 telephone calls and held 556 face to face meetings with clients.

Despite these referrals the statistics above show us that many more people suffer in silence. We are therefore aiming to raise further funds to sustain our services so we can help more people survive and recover from their experiences of domestic abuse.

If you or someone you know is being hurt, frightened or controlled by a partner or family please call us in confidence on
